Supporting the female talent pipeline

It’s International Women’s Day and what a great

opportunity to applaud our female talent.

With 52% of our in-house staff female, we have a lot to celebrate.

Our management team comprises five females and five males - a perfect gender balance.

From the very start of this business in 1995, we have championed and supported talent, regardless of where they have come from, what their backgrounds are, their creed, gender or sexual orientation.

What is amazing to see is the number of young women who have joined us over the years who have gone on to reach their potential.

By providing a supportive and flexible working environment with a strong grass roots training ethos, we take great joy in seeing people shine.

Over the last twelve months, we have made 19 promotions, 13 of whom have been female members of our team.

These include Mehreen Ayub who started with us as an 18-year-old apprentice in 2016 and is now a recruitment consultant within our temporary division.

Mehreen went on to win an Asian Apprenticeship Award and an IRP Award.

Sina Otto is about to become a business manager - another strong female on our management ranks - and we have recently appointed Sarah Pittaway as director of permanent recruitment and business services.

Chantelle Mensah, who joined Admiral Recruitment in 2010 at 21 years of age as a receptionist and administrative assistant, and is now our client account director, a share-holder in the business and an associate director.

Lynne Cullen, who was originally operations manager, now heads up our Learning & Development.

It is said that a company’s ethos stems from the top. Paula Rogers leads by example. Throughout her own career to date, from starting as a temp to becoming CEO, she has ensured that others are nurtured and supported.

She has dedicated her time and energy to giving female talent the courage and confidence to break through barriers via mentoring, training, work experience and networking opportunities.

Paula said: “It is vital that we all play a part in seeking out women with potential and guide them through any barriers and glass ceilings so that they too can shine. It’s about mentoring, developing and recognising the female talent around us in our businesses.”
