On Wednesday 9th October, our founder, Paula Rogers FIH, joined other senior figures from the hospitality sector at the Institute of Hospitality’s annual Women in Hospitality networking event at the Waldorf Hilton in Aldwych.
The event offered an opportunity to discuss and explore the current situation within the sector and share insight and best practice.
Paula said: “It was such a pleasure to be invited to join the panel within the stunning 1920’s room at the Waldorf Hilton; such a passionate group of hospitality women and men who are continuing to drive a positive, inspiring and supportive message to all women in our sector.
“One thing that was so good to see was the male attendees and whilst this is very much about us holding events to encourage, challenge and continue to keep the hugely important objective of keeping women in senior roles, having this event open to all attendees is excellent and we really hope to see more and more attendees of every gender.
“We had an amazing evening with great topics around the challenges facing women in very senior roles, as well as the challenge of returning to work after a break or starting a family.
“What came through was that the work we all need to do collectively to encourage confidence, diversity and more flexibility in the workplace It was agreed by all that more mentoring and support is essential and that we need to continue to work towards our own personal goals and career aspirations, regardless of our gender, age, nationality or background,” said Paula.
During the evening, Paula shared insight into a survey on applications to Admiral Recruitment, comparing data on the basis of pre-Brexit, the Vote to Leave and post the triggering of Article 50. The full results of the survey will be announced by Admiral Recruitment in the coming weeks
